Lo all, Ive finaly got around to studying for the A+ exams using the good old Mike Meyers sixth edition.

Just the one question so far though im sure Ill have more sooner or later.

Once I have taken the 220-602 IT Technician exams can I then go onto do the depot tech exam (604) as well?

I like working behind the scenes but dont want to limit my job offers by just taking the depot technician exams.

    Thanks :)

Once you pass the core paper(O/S & Hardware) it's up to you to decide.
I dont think it will make that much difference which one you take, unless you are going to specialise in one field.

You have to take Essential (601) and one other but if you want to waste extra money then I cant see why you cant take a 3rd exam.

Just to clarify, you have to take the 220-601 (Essentials) and one of the other three, 602, 603 or 604 to become A+ certified.

I doubt employers will be to bothered which one you take, A+ is A+ in my book!

Yes, you HAVE to take the 601, then ONE other from the remaining three.

Yeah you need only take two exams for an A+
Don't waste your money on any more than that.

If you want to do another compTIA then do Network+
It will add more credability to your CV and maybe you can
combine these as an optional if you go down the MCSA route.

Good advice, thanks for the replys guys.

Also a word for anyone thinking of buying the Mike Meyers A+ all in one guide book, do it, its brilliant. Even if you have just a general interest in computers and are not planning on taking the exams, its facinating to read how computers acctually work.

Next time I open my computer im gonna be looking at it differently thats for sure. Anyway, onto A+ and beyond!
