:cry::cry: Just watched the last episode of season 10. So sad. Its all over.

I do still have Ark of Truth and Continuum to watch yet, and of course Atlantis (About to start season 3), but its still the end of an era.

SG-1 has been part of my life for almost exactly the entire length of my relationship with my Other half. Thats nearly 6 years. I just realised that whilst writing this now. Thats a little scary, although I'm not entirely sure why.

On a related note, fans of the series might like to check this out. Sounds a lot like a cross between Voyager, and Sliders to me. Could be interesting. Equally, it could tank.

I picked up season 10 over here, was not prepared to pay the 60 quid HMV were asking ;)
watched season 10, and Ark of Truth to wrap up the Ori story line
have not watched Continuum yet though

Currently (in fact right this second) watching Atlantis Season 4,

I have watched Stargate since I was 17, almost 10 years ago, so pretty much when it started in the UK
I hope they find a way to continue to franchise, its such an epic sci fi setting, there is so much they could still do!

    Bring on Stargate Worlds! :D

I was disappointed that SG-1 finished and watched both movies already (I won't give away the endings :) ). To tell the truth I've only really gotten into Atlantis since Carter (amanda Tapping) took over, and now that Woolsey (Robert Picardo) has taken over, I'm not sure. I liked him as the Doc in Star Trek, but as a member of the IOA, I'm not sure...

I hope that Stargate Universe is be good, I mean it can't be any worse than Stargate Inifinity (cartoon version)

I have been watching Stargate SG1 since the beginning, I have most of them on DVD. I loved the last few years when SG1 and Atlantis ran alongside each other. SG1 had reached an end, another series would have been struggling for a good story line. Atlantis is great, keeping the franchise alive, and a new series will most likely be just as good as SG1 and Atlantis. I watched Continuum two weekends ago, it was really good (I wont say any more, I don't want to spoil it for anyone).

As you are probably already aware, Altantis is ending after it's current season and "Universe" has now been green lit aimed at a younger audience.

The thing is - everything ends.

I've been a Star Trek fan for a long time.
TOS finished, and TNG came along which was better.
    Then DS9, which was better.
    Then Voyager, which was better.
    Then Enterprise...

Maybe by 'better' I mean 'different but not worse'.

I enjoyed Stargate, but thought that Atlantis was better.

Once the big corportions latch on to a lucrative francise, they don't want to let it go.

    Oh, wait, but Star Trek...

I've never been a big fan of Trek, though i did enjoy soem of teh earlier DS9 episodes.

Stargate has really gripped me though and i've seen most of them, including Ark and Continum. One thing i do liek about SG-1 is that there have been a few "less" serious episodes, ones where they have even taken the mick out of them selves (the SG-1 TV special for example).

I also like the Atlantis spin off. I feel the mix of charcters has proven a success, and teh killing off of major players has helped.

What teh new series will be like, i have no idea. If its aimed at a younger audience i can imagine it being slightly tamer, with no real over all long runnig story arc. But i am willing to give it a try before i pass judgement.
