Sony is recalling several models of its Vaio laptops due to a wiring issue that could cause overheating. Read the full BBC report here...

Au contraire. They make 'em EXACTLY like they used to. I had six sony walkmans when I was a kid - every one of them - EVERY - SINGLE - ONE - broke/went bad within three months of the warranty expiring. One of them even melted through my bag (eerily reminiscent of their latest catastrophe).

I had about 6 sony walkmans too and they sucked also.

I've always thought they sucked since then and they suck even more for making TVs that only allow PS3s to run properly and not Xboxes.

    What's a PS3? :p

They only make games for Xbox 360 now right? (no-one mention the 'red ring of death')

    *sigh*

Well it should be linked to both. Or at least be put on the "Smilies" window when you post. It would be more often used than  for instance.

Come to think of it my £210 minidisk walkman broke, it stopped recording. I did get a lot of use from it though. My home cinema amp is a Sony, had that for about 6 years, it gets used at least 4 hours a day and has been (and still is) a great bit of kit.

Not heard that before, but I can believe it!

I ended up getting pissed of with the red rings of death after 4 360s however they have sorted it out with a smaller chipset now. However I replaced my console with a PC and couldn't be happier :)
