    I was actually asking my local tv repair shop about soldering aswell the other day but il add my question in here to save a duplicate post. he suggested i buy a soldering station. . . . .anyone any advice on these? what makes a good one and what a not so good one.

    also regaring the actual solder. what type of solder should you use on laptops?

    lead free solder is preferred these days AFAIK unless the manufacturer specifically dont want it.
