I just purchase Mike Meyers Fifth Edition fo the A+ Cert "All-In-One". Do you think I should get a refund and wait for the new book to come out in December or do you think that I should go for it and sit the exam in March (which is what I calculate to be earliest time I can sit the exam on the old syllabus!)

    Hi sakuraba1982,

Take the hardware exam, and make sure you do the OS exam before March 31st 2007. The clock is ticking.

For anybody out there, the current A+ books that cover the hardware and OS exams will prepare you for the new A+ Essentials exam.

Do not panic yet. Just make sure you get the stuff that covers 602, 603, 604 depending on where you want to specialise. 602 relates very closely to the current A+ with customer service and helpdesk sort of issues.

the latest you can sit the exam is in March afterthat, the new 2006 objectives kick in, and you will no longer be able to sit the 2003 objectives.

you could either get a refund on your book and wait until end of this year until a new version of a book comes out and go for the new 2006 objectives or start working on the book and get it in before end of March next year.

    thx guys

sit the hardware exam tommorow, looking to sit the software 4- 6 weeks later that is provided i pass!!!

I am well nervous i have been studying for ages but i have a short attention span for books i know near enough all of it but the A+ exam is so broad and covers so much i keep forgetting things!!!

at least the A+ exam give you a bit of slack with the passing score
