Any helpful tips? I'm doing N+ 005 exam, have been doing a video course on and off and now I'm in a position where I'm going to really knuckle down and cram.

I've been using professor messer's video course and a sybex book.

Yo - i passed the N+ with Prof Messer and a Sybex book. I thought the exams in the book were quite good, do as many as you can. I also found a sybex network+ plus testing app on itunes, it's free...give it a whirl.

Thanks andy. I think what I plan to do is go over the videos, take notes then refer to the exam objectives. Rewrite and catagorize the exam objectives answering them with my explination for each one, then read through the book and do some online quiz.

    Windows Phone Marketplace...good luck haha.

Look out for Prof Messer Study Groups, they are live shows talking over the exam and you can ask questions...i really enjoyed the one i watched.

Try to consolidate all your notes...get a full chapter down to half a page so it's easier to digest.

Print off the comptia exam objects, go down that list and write down definitions to everything you know...that's a great way of finding things you don't. Plus you've just covered the entire course contents.

Good luck with it. It's quite a nice test covering a good range of stuff. It's totally whetted my appetite for Cisco (sadly time has been at an absolute premium lately).
    My advice with all tests:
    1) Read/view & practise once to build concepts and understanding
    2) Take practise tests.
    3) Read again for facts, details and procedures.
    4) Take practise tests.
    5) Pass

The mistake most new people make is jumping from one to five, which is lethal, you'll 50-50 fail. A mistake more experienced people tend to make is skipping step one, which is less lethal, but also a mistake. It makes you a paper-tech.
