Should music downloads be free? is the question i ask here

According to this BBC Report its is suggested we pay for the it via our monthly fee, i personally do not think that is a good idea for myself, as I rarely download music, but what do you think about this?

    Comments appreciated...

I wouldn't mind paying a monthly fee to download any music. However this isn't going to happen i feel because artists will lose money...

I signed up to Napster and it's pretty good. £10 per month for unlimited downloads or £15 for putting them on your mp3 player. The only snag is, once you stop paying, you can no longer listen to the songs you downloaded (unless you buy them at around 80p each). But, on the plus side, I've downloaded in excess of 5000 songs from them in the two or three months I've been a member, so I've paid £30 instead of what could amount to £4000 or £5000 and I know the police won't be knocking at my door as it's legal.
