Setup.exe is the program that launches in a 32bit enviroment (Windows) and is what gives you that nice XP splash screen too. Once you choose what you want to do from the XP menu setup will then execute winnt32.exe...

Winnt.exe is for installing Windows NT/2000/XP via a 16bit enviroment such as DOS...You would type in winnt.exe at the command prompt to launch the NT/2000/XP pre-installer (blue screen type installation screen).

Now bear in mind that Setup.exe for 95/98/ME will install the 95/98/ME OS regardless of the enviroment...Setup.exe for NT/XP/2000 is competley different to the 95/98/ME version.

Hope that helps...If I'm wrong please someone correct me!
