    Hello All,

Are there any of you that have recently installed Oracle 11g? I have recently installed it sucessfully according to the instructions given on the Oracle website. However there is one part that I am stuck at.

In the installation instructions there is a section entitled. 'Testing Your Installation'.
    It mentions the following:

Open a browser and enter the following URL:

    https://<hostname>:1158/em

where <hostname> should be changed to your machine name, IP address, or localhost.

Because Enterprise Manager Database Control is a secure site, you need a certificate. Select the Accept this certificate permanently option, and then click OK.

^^I have opened Firefox and put this in but Firefox brings up an error message stating: Firefox can't find the server at <hostname>. I have changed hostname to my own name e.g. https://<John>:1158/em

Can anyone shed any light on this,
    Thanks in advance

Thankyou all for the kind responses.
In the program menu from 'Start' there is an option called: Database Control - orcl

This cleared things up when selected.
