Hi all, a tricky one for you here. I have Exchange 2007 set up with a couple of mail enabled public folders and a couple of users configured to be able to "send as" this public folder.

    eg
the public folder is called info
    it is mail enabled
the address given is info @ somecompany.com
user has permissions to "send as" from this public folder

The question is, how do I configure the user to be able to send from this public folder email account?

Use the Exchange Management Console to issue the following command:

Add-ADPermission "Public Folder Name" -User "Domain\UserName" -Extendedrights "Send As"

Then in Outlook ensure that they can see from the From Box. In the From Box type in the email address of the Public Folder and send a test to themselves.

If this works, happy days, you might have to restart Exchange the Information Store.

Thanks for the quick reply Craigie. The useer already has the rights "Send as" and when I run it through the poweshell it tells me also that it's already configured.

The question is, how do I configure it (in outlook maybe?) that he can send the mail as the public folder.

Exchange won't let me configure a second account. I can't open the public folder as a data file as it's not a "proper" email account.
