Passed my A+ essentials last Friday and am sitting my 602 IT Technician tomorrow.

Got a score of 675 on my essentials which I was chuffed to bits with and am feeling confident. Lots of thanks to all the people who have posted on this forum. I've been reading it for over a year, it's a mine of information and it's saved me a small fortune.

Well done must be a good feeling?. I am in the process of learning myself so i can complete the essentials then go on to the 602. Would you say its better to learn yourself and how long has it took you to prepare youself for the exam.

Is it better to learn yourself? I don't know, depends on the sort of person you are. I'd advise anyone studying for the A+ to try self-study first though.
How long will it take? That depends on your personal circumstances. How much free time do you have, how much drive do you have, how much do you already know?
Personally it's taken me about 3 months full time* study out of the last 4 months to get my 601. I did get 843 though, I couldn't afford to resit it anytime soon so I made sure I was very prepared.

And congrats to Spike, hope you do/did well in your 602.

Scored an 819 on my 602! and so I tough I'd give N+ ago as well. Booked it 4 days ago and studied 10+ hours a day since. I'm starting to burn out on a bit but I think I'll make it.
