Self study @home... How long b4 Cert?

Can sum1 tell me how long it takes to get certified?

(I know it's self paced an all... but on average? What's the quickest?)

I can allocate about 5hrs a day to study. How long will it take me to get certified?

I started studying full time, and I was doing an MCP every two months or so. That would make it 10-12 months for my MCSD.
I'm working again now, so it's all fallen over.

I am doing an exam about every 1.5 to 2 months at the moment, but I have got 6 - 7 Low level experiance and putting in about 60 hours a month, so 90 - 120 hours per exam. Also looking at 70-291 I may have to re-evaluate the time scale !

Well, I am quite old and have more than 10 years experience on programming. I decided to take MCSD cert on May 21 and took my first MCP exam 70-320 on May 23. I passed my first MCP exam after 2-day study. I thought the cert was very easy for me and I took 2 more exams 70-229 and 70-315 but I failed them. I have studied for 1 week before take 70-316 and passed yesterday. I will re-take 70-229 this Thursday and I will get my MCAD if I pass it. I plan to earn MCSD by the end of this month.

You can spend less time if you already have some experience. Test yourself by simulation exam before you take the cert exam. Microsoft provides self-assessment test on their website. It's a good idea to buy more questions from MeasureUp.
