Theres a job advertised at work for a 2nd level helpdesk analyst with a specialty in Security, responsible, among other things, for ensuring that AV and patches are up to date, and monitoring alerts, etc.

Although they are looking for people who can walk in with the skills, I've decided to submit my CV for the job. The worst they can say is no. and if i get an interview its my job to convince them that hiring me and training me is in their best interests (im more likely to hang around longer since i need the training and experience, compared to someone who already has it, who could leave in 6 months).

    Heres hoping.

thats what i thought but it looks like comptia wants a good knowledge of n+ first is that really so? As well does security+ start from the bottom and work up in the world of security?
