    Hi gang,

I'm just wondering if someone can check I have got this right. I've booked 70-291 for the end of June and used a second shot voucher. The voucher has worked because as expected I can only sit this exam before June 30th when Second shot runs out.

If I fail 291 end of June, I can't use the Second shot voucher to resit in July say can I? The offer is only valid till June 30th so first exam and resit have to be before then. Thats correct?

Cheers, just want to check I'm not reading it wrong

    Jim

    Q. What is the timeframe for taking my first exam and then retaking that same exam if I do not pass on the first try?
    A. You have until June 30, 2009, to register, obtain an exam voucher, complete your first exam, and retake your exam (if you did not pass on your first attempt).

Cheers Cheeks, I read that and thats what prompted my question. How did you take what MS have wrote. That your original exam AND resit have to be before June 30th? Or just your original exam?

    I found this :confused3 to
    thanks

I have a question to add. I too have a 2nd shot voucher number and looking to sit 291 end of June.
looks if I have to bring forward exam date so I can use 2nd shot voucher number or obviously plan not to fail!

How often is there a offer of 2nd shot?

Approx every 12-18 months, judging by Microsoft's history over the last few years. Howwever it's basically whenever MS feel like it. They could stop it anytime.

Hopefully one day Billy G will realise he's made enough money from MS Training and make Second Shot a permanent feature (I Live in hope!) :D

I'm looking at 2nd shot as I seen so many failed on this exam, does it just comedown to you sat exam to soon and wasn't ready, I still don't think it helps by calling 291 the beast

If that's a question then... yeah.

70-291 contains lots of different topics which can take a while to grasp. DHCP/Network infrastructure/remote access etc etc.

Take a look at the MS prep guide for the 70-291 if you want a full breakdown. It can be found here - http://www.microsoft.com/learning/en/us/exams/70-291.mspx

At the end of the day though any exam is easier if you revise hard and are well prepared, and the 291 isn't an exception.

    What another question.

I'm thinking of sitting 291 I know that I'm not ready but should I pass with say 710 scores could I resit exam
with my Second shot? would hate to just crape in.

As I said I know I'm ready but it be good to get a feel of questions.

You could but you've only got until the end of the month to sit it and the retake (and that's only if you fail - not to get better score)

Why should it matter? A 710 score is as good as a 900 score: a pass is a pass. Employers won't ask you your score.
