    Are you using XP?

Have a look in your disk managment tool.

Go into control panel, admin tools, computer management and select disk management. Then you should be able to format the drive and assign a drive letter.

    Hope this helps :)

    1. right click my computer
    2. Choose manage
    3. Expand Storage, and select disk management
    4. There will be a list of your disks shown in the window
    5. click what will be listed as Disk 1. It should not have a dirve letter next to it at present.
    6. Right click disk one and choose format.
    7. Once format is complete, right click again and assign a drive letter.
