    At the ripe old age of 85 Scotty (Actor James Doohan) has passed today
    he leaves behind his wife and 5 year old daughter!

    Did you know he took part in the D-Day landings? he lost a finger!
    he also created the vulcan and klingon languages

    top marks all round, he will be missed by many

    Heard this on the way home. He was one of my favourite Star Trek Characters. He will be missed.

    I still remember that great line from "The Trouble with Tribbles" where Scotty admitted he beamed all the Tribbles to the Klingon ship, where they would be "no Tribble at all". He was a great character and he will indeed be missed. Who will take care of the Dilithium crystals now? :(

    I just hear that before popping along to CF. He wasn't looking too good at his last public appearance so it was obvious he wasn't long for this world. :( When you know how many of the voices he performed in Trek you realise what a fine, and under-rated, actor he really was (despite the slightly dodgy scottish accent!) A true genius and sadly missed already :bigcry
