Blimey! And there was my wife tonight discussing whether we should buy a wok (as in she's going to buy one, so I shouldn't be surprised when it appears in the kitchen)... we talk about the most interesting things over dinner. :dry

Never had cornbread btw... what do you eat with it? Meat?

No you have not misunderstood me and most time I might agree with you on this. But from the documentairs I have seen, the whole nation was calling for his blood. These people hated them and usually a hate that runs that deep is passed down. I just really can't belive that their descendants are not tinted with some of that hate. Not all of them but I think a major porition. If the Romanov last years were never bought to the worlds attention would a church have been built on their death site? Would there be a march to mark their passing? Would anyone really be sorry for the way they died or the innocent children that weren't even showed mercy? He had already abdicated a year before they were slaughtered. Why could they just not exile them from russia? Or atleast exile the children with their grandmother. And, if they really belived they were doing what was best for their country, why hide the exacution from the world? And if they are really sorry for what happen and it just went to far as war time is knowed to do why wasn't the death squad and those who order it ever bought to the courts for these awfull crimes?

OMG, I make it with pintobeans that I cook all day long and they are well season with saltpork. Some people eat the pork I don't. Then you make fry potatoes to go with it and fried green tomatoes that are rolled in the cornbread befor frying. I have a grilfriend that makes a cornbread gravy that will make your tounge slap you silly if you don't go back for seconds.

No Tball is for very young children that want to play baseball from like 4yrs and up. There is a tee stand at homebase that the baseball or softball sits on for them to hit the ball. I like to watch tball and the little ones play.

They only throw some of the time. There's also running. And don't forget field goals, punts, and kickoffs, which are CLEARLY kicking.

There is another bit of kicking going on... KICKING BUTT!!! But "footbutt" didn't sound quite right... :p

Some people are easy influenced by their leaders. Most people think for their self befor they take action, but lots of them do not. They just follow the group they belong to and do not have a meaning of their own. If the leader tells them to jump, they jump; if he tells them to kill, they kill.
The history is full of examples. Just think of the order to kill Salman Rushdy. Did you really think any off these guys could actually read the book he wrote? No way. I tried it, but with sentences stretching two pages even I got confused. The leader told them he had to die and the leader was allways right (he was the leader after all) so they hunted for him.
During bad times it is easy to get people to do what you want. Just show them that the current situation is wrong and convince them that the man to blame is ... (just fill in the blanks) and the only way to escape from this is getting this guy killed/in jail/fired/demoted/harmed (just pick one). Just get the people fanatic and you will get your goal.
Don't blaim it all on the people, blaim the leader.

Thats true, it takes a charamatic person to lead, and people love to be led, even if they do't really understand whats going on.

Basically the strong will lead, and the weak will follow like sheep, And in somes, blindingly and with out question or thought.

Sorry Mitzs, but I guess that this tars you (and anyone else for that matter) with the same brush when you honour your 'heroes' that fought in WWI and II. Just remember all those innocent civilians that died from bombs dropped on them, mothers and their children, who took no part in the war and who also did not want the war.

You, like myself, are not responsible for the actions of our forbears but we both stand up and remember them for what they did, that is, what the historians tell us they did. Unfortunately history is written by the winners and usually glosses over the gruesome details and points out the highlights.

    Here you go Giddy, IESpell.

Well, if they did that then there would always be living descendants that could come back and claim the throne. There would also be a faction of the population that would then support actively seek to reinstate the family in their 'rightful' place again. The leaders of the revolution did not want this possibility and so to remove it completely you then have to remove the family. Completely.

I have visited the grave near Yekaterinburg where they are buried, there is not much there just a little cross.

It is very sad, it was a revolution, many people would have suffered not just the tsars, also bear in mind that like in france, generations of tsars lived a very extravagant lifestyle while many of their subjects starved to death.

What about the many crimes in south america commited in this century often aided by CIA operatives ?
