Routing Databse Help!

    Hi All!

    This is balaji here, I would like to have some clarification on the databases that resides in a router.

    This Database contains a list of information about all other networks in the internetwork. this ends with L.

    Depends on your definition of 'database'. Most people would not expect a 'database' to exist on a router, but, on the other hand. would expect configuration files to exist.

    No idea what you are referring to with 'ends with L' comment.

    Routers have routing tables, where info is stored relating to the networks that are nearest to them, so that they know where to send any given packet on to the next router in the chain. The tables can be updated manually or by using routing protocols like RIP, OSPF etc.

    Is this what you are asking?
