    i'm still using my 6 yo 19" iiyama CRT Vision Master Pro for the same reasons as you. i run my desktop @ 1600x1200 which until recently TFT monitors couldn't do.

    Sorry to hear of demise of what sounds like a good CRT monitor. I am sitting here looking at ViewSonic E70 17" monitor with something of a chip on my shoulder re the fact that so many web-sites these days are optimized for 1024x768 whereas this monitor of mine has a highest usable resolution of 800x600 (for my eyesight).

    It is interesting to note CRT monitors can still be bought, (eg. www.computerdisplays.co.uk seem to stock Iiyamas).

    Its slightly confusing with regards to LCD v CRT monitors as my 15" LCD laptop screen is usable at 1024x768, whereas my 17" Viewsonic monitor is NOT usable at this resolution, even though it has greater screen real estate. But I've heard on a number of occasions that CRT is much better for gaming?
