Restore backups from tape drive

    If you have all your data backup onto a tape drive is it pretty straighforward to restore this data onto a new install, the backups will be the likes of sage, files and email backups.

    this depends on how easy your backup software is to use rather than the fact that its on a tape drive, its just another storgae device. We use a software called Veritas and yes its pretty straightforward to restore from it

    Yeah it's easy enough. Need to know what software you are running - we use Veritas Netbackup, but that's all I've ever dealt with for tape drives.

    I've restored db's, folders, regular files from tape backup's before so I don't think it should be a problem... I am using Symantec Backup Exec 12.

    Not sure... from the OP post, it looks like Mailbox, database and docs... or do you mean NTFS perms, etc?
