resetting a forgotten password to windows 8.1

    hi Guys am having trouble logging into windows 8.1 any suggestions how to reset the password and allow me back in

    Im sure I read somewhere it can be done in the BIOS somehow..

    BIOS shouldn't have anything to do with the OS Password, depending on the type of BIOS (UEFI) you may be able to change the BIOS password from the OS tho.

    What type of account did you use? If you use a local account, you can remove the password by booting your computer with PCUnlocker Live CD. While you can go to Microsoft online webpage to reset your password if you use a Microsoft account.
