I've attached a graphic of the reputation box. You'll see at the right side of the graphic the number of reputation points Michael has (in this case 2019). If you like a post of his, you can click on the blue number and add to his "reputation". The amount you can add depends on your post count, among other factors, and is listed as "Power". You can see in the graphic that Michael's "Power" is 57. That is, if he decided to give reputation to another member (you can't give reputation to yourself), he could add 57 points.

All this is just a way the forum allows you to show your appreciation for the contribution of other members.

BTW...congratulations, Michael. I may be the forum big mouth but you seem to be the forum helper.

But in actuality, I can't make my own willy... er... I mean... reputation value rise... it takes the actions of others to make that happen.

You know, perhaps I'm just digging my own pit deeper with this explanation...

 

I also thought Zeb, Harry, or Trip would break 2K first... a few well-placed comments about the evils of AOL certainly didn't hurt.
