I'm looking to buy a good CCNA book prior to starting CCNA in September07.
    But which book to buy?

Cisco Press is really good for the technical content, but I find it a bit dry.

    Sybex usually is better reading.

What worked best for me when I was doing Cisco suff was a light harted book (CCNA for Dummies) to introduce the subjects and the Cisco Press Academy Companions to develop further.

I've only used the Cisco Press books, but I completely recommend them. They go into a lot mroe detail than the online curriculum and none of the sections are too long and drawn out.
