    Hi All,

My wife just rang me to say that I've received my Licentiateship Diploma in the post from C&G's today. It's equivalent to a NVQ 4 so it's a high award, ok not as high as my BSc - but it's still a great award to have, imo.

On my list (for the next few years) is:

    1. The MSc IT Management and/or
    2. The GCGI (equivalent to a Honours Degree)

This year has been very busy for me, glad next year will be easier (study wise anyway...) :)

Got the books in for Project 2007 :

Step by Step MS Office Project 2007
Managing Projects with MS Office Project 2007 (exam 70-632 - MCTS)

with a view to having a go at the exam in January

Couldn't afford the cost of the PRINCE2 foundation so this was the cheaper option :biggrin

Hoping to sit 70-290 sometime in Dec too so the combo should help job-wise

Cool let us know how you get on, to be honest I didn't even consider any Project from MS. Are they proper Project management certs or using the technology/software to assist in Project management certs? As that may be a cheaper option for me too :)

Well, they're "proper" as far as MS is concerned :biggrin

To be fair, you'd probably have to do 70-632/33/34 to be rally regarded as a "project" person - the latter two exams concentrating more on the porject management side and using Project Server.

However, I think it's a good starting point and helps towards good project pratice.

Some time back I did an Office Trainer "Gym" at MS Reading and they covered Project and simple training exercises for it like planning a party. It illustrated the point of project planning extremely well and the latest incarnation - Project 2007 - is quite well regarded I've found.

There's a bit here about the exam for 632 you might wanna read.
