    Hi All,

Just wondering if now is the right time to take on the CCNP switch exam?

From anyone that has done it or has looked into the material / pre reqs. what stage in you're career ideally should you be at?

Currently have 2 years network experience 1 year of which is in network security. I have configured a fair few switches for client sites and I'm comfortable around the Cisco ios.

I've done quite a bit of L3 work also on the core switching side of things 3750's as well as distribution / access switching 2960 series.

What are the best resources to use for study if now is the time?

    Cheers,

I'd tackle Route first if you are going for the CCNP as a whole, but otherwise if you feel you are covering most of the SWITCH topics in your normal role and just want to back it up with a cert then sure go for it. I'd recommend getting a couple of 3550's to play with, plus some 2950s and setup some interesting L2 networks. Unless ofcourse you can borrow work kit to play with :).
