yeah I can see what you mean. so basically would be best to just work and get experience and stop doing certifications for a while then to get experience?

Yeah so you could do A+,N+ and MCDST and the upgrade to Vista but yes get a job.

 

I already have a job as a helpdesk employee, been working there for 4 months now. but that does sound good. maybe not doing higher certifications, but doing other certifications that are about the same level as MCDST until I have more experience in user support and increase areas that need work on as a dst.
