    Farrah Fawcett died today after a 3 year battle with cancer.

    Now THAT is a sad death. No sadder than anyone else who had cancer and died from it, of course, but she donated a lot of time and money to publicising the scandal of domestic abuse over many years. A shame.

    Somehow, stories of people who have cancer, fight it into remission then succumb to it a few years down the line are always the most dreadful - it makes me think of the people I know who have themselves, or have relatives who have been given the all-clear with dread.

    Cancer is a motherf***er. :(

    yep I agree, I have seen what cancer does to people and it aint nice.

    The film the burning bed is a very good film and I believe it where she started her campaining and supporting of abused and battered women.

    I'll always remember her from the Canon ball run though :)

    She was largely dismissed as a talent, but a detailed look at her work reveals a depth that was overshadowed by her "poster girl" and "Charlie's Angels" reputation. She was courageous in her fight against cancer right up until the end. May she now be at peace.
