The MCDST counts as his elective, so he needs to do the 70-290 (Server Exam) and the 70-291 (Network Infrasructure aka The Beast).

So just the two hardest ones he's left tbh. The 290 ain't so bad, but the 291 is a horrible exam!

Get him to go to his MCP member site, there is a tool on there that shows his exams passed and what he needs for additional accreditation.

Hope this guys got the relevant experience!

Thanks thats what I though but I wasn't sure. How evil is the beast?

Yes he is a network admin he has been doing it for about 12 months. I didn't think of the cert planner.

Ha ha, surely there is no need to ask how bad an exam is when it's nickname is 'The Beast'. :)

You get something like 5hrs for it, and the scenarios are very long and take a while to get your head around. Not to mention the simulations. All in all, it's a very hard exam and is certainly the hardest thing I have had to do cert wise.

the questions themselves are your standard ms affair, however what makes this a tough exam is the scope of topics covered, just look at the size of the books you get for the exam. That and does anyone really really use windows server as RRAS!?!?

I realised it would be a hard exam but didn't think it was anything like that. I'm glad I dont have to take it.

lol nah. I knew he had to do two exams but I thought maybe he had to have the N+ to count towards the elective aswell as the A+ and MCDST.

I am not doing the MCSA I am no where near ready for it.
