    here is todays brain teaser

NoelG and flex are two network administrators for computersRus.com, a company specalising in suppling pc's for schools. They have decided that their servers should feature fault tolerance. They know that Windows 2000 server comes built-in with support for several RAID types. They only have two hard drives per server, but they still want to configure them in the most fault tolerant option. Which of the following will they choose?

    A) Mirrored Volume

    B) Duplex Volume

    C) Striped Volume

    D) RAID 5 Volume

B is the correct answer, although they dont bother mentioning the ammount of controllers the servers have, obviously this could make the answer A, but the correct answer based on the information given is B

(yeah i know, it will be A in typical microsoft fasion)
    lol

Edit: notice you seem to be talking about software volumes and not hardware based raid, in which case i dont believe you can have duplex vomumes as they rely on hardware, if thats the case the answer will also be A

 Opps, Sorry folks, forgot to post the answer on Friday

    Correct answer is: B

Explanation: Duplex is the right answer. D. is not possible because there are only two disks per server, and RAID 5 requires at least 3 physical drives. C. is not possible, for striped volumes are not fault tolerant. Both Mirrored and Duplex volumes are fault tolerant, and both only require two drives. However, Duplex volumes also require 2 controllers, which makes them more fault tolerant than Mirrored Volumes.
