Nobody told me today's VMware user group meeting was a 'special' one, apparently its the annual 'conference'
I've been up since 4:45am, flew to Portland, picked up my rental car (a shiney Charger, vroom vroom)
and am speaking in front of 450 people at 4:30pm this afternoon (about 5 hours from now, and im still brushing up my slides)

    'Bring the Rain'
Next Gen I/O and Cloud Computing demystified

    should be fun!
    wish me luck

Best of luck mate. You will find it easy no doubt because cloud computing is so interesting/the future. Just a shame you can't mention the future of gaming going this way too :D

In a past life I worked in Industrial Relations (both sides - first Trade Union then management). I regularly used to speak in front of hundreds of angry union members. Nothing like a seething undercurrent of resentment in the room to focus your attention :biggrin

I have done some public speaking too, it's a little nerve wracking though quiet a buzz once you settle down.

    Good luck Ryan 8)

I want to get a part time teaching job like a couple of lessons a week just to improve my speaking.

Oh I'm so not volunteering to come speak at the CF Birthday Bonanza now

Just got back to Boise, a little buzzed from the ample booze and high altitude cabin pressure ;)

The keynote went well, in fact I was told by more than one person it was the best of the day, it was fast, fun, interactive and exactly what people needed at 4:25, they really didnt need another 'let me point at my generic slides' session that they had had all day

no body got up and left, despite it being so close to home time, but we did have a few less than the full house of the first keynote, i heard it was still over 400 though! eek

Aww rubbish lol. Well if you're online later (4 hours or so) I may be taking the unprecedented step of being on MSN. Maybe.
