I hadn't heard anything about them. I just seem to have a large, and I do mean LARGE pile of dead hard drives in my store that is mostly comprised of Samsung units (including several Spinpoints). Adding all of the other brands together gives you a pile a third of the size of the Samsung pile. Annecdotal, perhaps, but you'll have to get me at gunpoint before I'll consider storing MY data on one.

Samsung + moving parts = disaster waiting to strike.

[I've been scavenging the magnets from the hard drives along with old copper wiring from old buildings as I'm busy building my own wind generator for the helluvit. That's why I've got the old drives in a pile.]
