    Right,

I'm buying a wireless router tomorrow. I have a wireless network card.

My computer is downstairs in the kitchen and my ps2 is upstairs. I want to know if I can connect to online gaming wihout running cables all through the house.

    Please help!

Yup, but you need to buy a wireless bridge(aka a gaming bridge). It's basically a wi-fi adapter with an ethernet cable instead of USB.

    Examples here.

While it will work, the latency through WiFi is often a problem for gamers!

    Much better if wired! :biggrin

Yep what Harry said and the same goes for mice and keyboards too.

Most modern wireless keyboards and mice (pricier ones anyway) actually have very good response times. I use a wireless keyboard and mouse and there really is no difference than using wired ones.

Well you should try playing COD2 on my infrared keyboard with the QLD sun shining through the hole in the ozone layer and a wireless M$ mouse sporting half flat batteries then :p

I think everyones covered the technicalities of wi-fi gaming with the PS2 already, but I have to say from a personal point of view, going online with the PS2 is a rather hollow experience. The only time I play online with the PS2 these days is when Sony send me something for their beta trials, compared to my xbox where I'm online 2 or 3 times a week.

I had an Xbox for a year before I got a Live kit and went online. I was sorely disappointed and found Xbox gamers to be very cliquey and not nearly as acceptinga as PC gamers. I only used it online a few times.
