Ok so I passed the 601 (YAY!), last night I went to book my 602 for this friday and was going to book through Prometric like I did for the 601. Instead I went and looked to see if I could find discount vouchers.

I found a discount voucher (called an early expiration) for the A+ for any of the exams (601, 602 etc) for US$109!!! Thing is it was through Vue not Prometric. I went ahead and booked it not thinking about one thing.

Because I did 601 with Prometric, does that mean I am tied to them for the 602? If so, I think I just blew US$109 on a voucher I can't use because it is for Vue.

Bare in mind the sole testing centre here in Grand Cayman is both Vue and Prometric, so no probs there.

    Any ideas anyone???

Ah cool. Well, I can only take the exam at one test centre because there is only one on the island! Hehehe.

The thing is, on the printout for 601, it says when I pass 602 I log in and get my certificate. How do I do that if I am doing 601 with prometric and just booked my 602 with Vue?

most test centres that I am aware of are just that test centres, the vue & prometric names are given to them sort of like Microsoft gold status etc.

So the test centre should be both vue & prometric you will easily find out by looking on the prometric site.

When you register make sure to give them your CompTIA ID, so your second exam ends up under the same profile at CompTIA. If it does not email them and they will fix it.

You mean when I register the voucher (which Preplogic still have not sent me) on the Vue website to schedule the exam enter my CompTIA id there or give it to them at the test centre?

Where do I find my CompTIA id? Is it on the print out of my pass sheet from the 601?

    Thanks.

Cool, so who do I give my CompTIA id to? Vue (when booking) or the test centre and just let them know also that I done the 601 with Prometric?

I would call VUE when we are ready to register and explain the situation to them and give them all the information. Also have you logged into the CompTIA website to look at your profile?

Hey guys, sorry to trouble you all with the original thread, it appears Preplogic have already answered the question for me.

They just sent me an email telling me they have cancelled my purchase request. I think they don't accept credit cards from the Cayman Islands (a lot of places online don't). Oh well, sod it I think i'll just pay the extra US$54 and go through Prometric and save myself a universe of hassle!

Thanks though for all your help everyone, at least I know what to do in future now! If anybody is interested here is what Preplogic had to say:

Yeah I looked there, but they want me to sign up to paypal. I can do that but paypal doesn't like credit cards from the Cayman Islands.

    Sucks to live here sometimes!

you dont have to have a paypal account, I dont and I dont have a credit card either. I used my mothers then changed the name to mine so the vouchers related to me.

They will accept credit/debit cards you dont have to sign up to the paypal thing although you will get anemail trying to make you sign to it.

Am just on the Prometric site now, it is asking me this:

    Additional Information Requested By CompTIA
Before proceeding, please provide the following information.
    Member #

Is that the number on the print out sheet? All I have is a Prometric Testing Id which I got on my 601 order.

Aye, but like my attempt to purachase at Preplogic, a lot of places don't like credit cards from Cayman Islands. I have no idea why, it makes shopping online (regardless of import duty) very difficult.
