Whats good software for planning your application.

I would like software that I can plan the stages that I wanna go through, for example: Design 1- 2 weeks, Development 2 weeks, testing 3 weeks........

What About MS Project? Is that software capable of that?

excel, word, aswell, all depends on what detail you going to put on the docs and what you want the outcome to be like.... you need to put some more info in your original question...

    hehe

I didnt really think about word or excel, I think I will try excel for now and if I find that a little too basic I will come back with a more precise question :D

    Thanks Cheekmaster

Dia is a good free utility for creating things like flow charts and network diagrams, much like MS Visio. I've used it at work to produce flow charts while others were using Powerpoint, the ones I made blew the rest out of the water. It takes a bit of getting used to, but it's very powerful.
