Nasty, might be worth downloading the software again.

Is the PC fully patched up, not sure if this will help but the latest Windows Installer files are included with SP2 on XP.

    Disable AV?
Is there another PC you can test the install on? 8)

Not sure mate, I use Virtual PC, free from MS so could be an option if you are having trouble with VMWare.

    UCM,

The link you provided displays a single post with no link, so perhaps it has been edited.

I cannot (after a brief look) find an error 1900 within the VM site. I would try another download and then a sfc/scannow

Have you had problems installing other applications in the same machine?

Are you logging on the host machine with an Admin account? Is there enough space on the drive?

Not sure if this will cause that specific error, but .msi files need the windows installer service to work. So check in services and make sure its running mate.
    EDIT
Looks like the installer is already running in the pic tho, so i doubt its that. Did you get version 6 running?

Same error? Have you verified the MD5 sums of your download to rule out a corrupted download file?

No a slightly different error it states (see screen shot) that files are corrupted or have been tampered with??

It tries to load a cab file and then an error message pops up asking Abort or retry??
