well it was like being back in the blitz last night, not that im old enough to have seen it,Dartford and the surrounding arears were cut of from the rest of the uk with vandalism to a electrical sub station 65,000 home effected,Power slowly coming back on around the area but Dartford still in the dark.
The kids thought it was the end of the world not being able to watch TV or play xbox and what no computer.
So we had to sit and talk to each other, which turned into playing chess then a few games of cards, Then when it wasn nice and dark outside we lit the candles and told ghost stories. When we finaly went to bed at 10:30pm the two boy were to scared to sleep in there bedrooms so slept in there relative doorways where they could see each other with the light from there mobile phones.
The worst thing was we have no gas cooker so we had to boil water on the BBQ for a cup of tea. well that was day 1, it is now day two and we still have no power.

It does make you wonder how people lived without electricity before, or how alot of people in the world still do..!

 

get up and sunrise go to bed and sun set, small candle for midnight trips to the outside loo, we get a few power cuts a year good excuse to catch up on lost sleep!

 

we put the only bike torch outside the toilet so to stop any accidents

your quite right and also all the mobiles are dying.On the flip side you should see the sky at night all those stars and the moon its breath taking.

They interviewed a family.... the mum said, the 1 hour burst of electricity was a lifesaver... i had a shower, ran the hoover round...PMSL... Ummm....LOL...

 

Just heard some parts are getting burst of three hours but not for us poor old residents of Dartford ,not giving us any power until repaires are complete wed am earliest, any one got any good ghost stories to tell the kids tonight. Last of the hot water ran out this morning after we all had washed, cold shower tomorrow.
