Somewhere down there gas is at 316 a gallon and 52 cents higher on the other side of town. I just caught the end of it on news channel 5. So you might want to keep an eye open or maybe see if you can find it on line. There is soupose to be some place where you can cheek for the cheapest places around town. Just thought I let you guys know. Wish we get that here.

There's one less than a mile from work that had it for $3.21 per gallon yesterday.

We went to the nearby Mexican restaurant for lunch earlier this week, and when we went in, it was $3.27... and when we came out, it was $3.26! Falling like a rock, baby!!!!

Looking at GasBuddy.com, it looks like there's one for $3.19 a gallon about 2 miles from here. The $3.21 is on my way home, so I'll probably stop there.

Cheap gas just dropped down to $3.80 a gallon around here. Idaho is always getting gouged. :(

I did end up with $3.21 gas today. It was $3.45 across the street. It was vacant, as you might guess.

You have been out of the UK for about 4 weeks and now you are saying $3.95 a gallon is messed up!! Traitor! :) It's only about the equivalent of $12 a gallon here ...

I had this conversation with Phoenix when we saw The Dark Knight together (actually, not in the movie). People here tend to drive a lot more...generally because they have to. In most areas (barring big cities), public transportation isn't such that we can just hop a train, bus, or subway and get where we need to go.

    Besides, you're just jealous. :dry

Yup, it's easy to try and just make a straight comparison, but I've already done 4500 miles in the month I've been out of the UK, that equates to about 50'000 miles a year, that's considerably more than most UK drivers (not all, but most)

I feel sorry for the ones that do similar commutes in the UK though, that's gotta be a painful experience at the pump (that said the UK also has MUCH more efficient cars, I can get a BMW 5 series over there that does 65 mpg (diesel) over here they have not heard of such goodness, and you can only get the petrol version (22 mpg!!!)

The differences are really more complex than a straight "ours is cheaper" view
don't get me wrong, I still don't mind paying 40 bucks to fill up my tank and going 400 miles+ on it, I still look at it and go '**** me that's cheap' but i think its only natural to go '**** me that's 15c more than next door' :P

oh and the messed up bit was in reference to it costing 15c more 20 miles down the road (on average, lots of shells and chevrons are more than that!)

I thought I was excited to get almost half a tank for $20 when I paid $3.58 a gallon. Remember when $2.00 seemed steep? I remember when I started driving and was paying $0.71 a gallon.
