Just got done blowing though my neck of the woods. Some really nasty winds and lightning. Shook the dam house. But we have several counties here that were really hit bad. We are not the only state with lost of life.:( It has compeletly level some neighborhoods. Atleast 8 people were killed just on one road because it wiped out all the houses there. They are now doing house to house searches with dogs to see if they can find anymore surviors under all that rubble. It is crazy, we are at 59 degrees where I live right now with a high of 66 today then dropping to 33 tonight with a high of only 45 tommrow. My heart and prayers goes out to all of those that lost so much this night. And hopefull Mike and Josh will check in soon so we know they are ok.

They probably are. Maybe I should start checking out the BBC. This is what Yahoo says about the weather in Nashville today:
Windy, but not a disaster area.

It was certainly a line of nasty storms with several Tornados touching down and I think more than 20 people killed across the state. Memphis got hit really rough, as did the area just north of Nashville. Fortunately, the storm went north of the area I live in, so we're doing fine. Glad to hear that you're ok, Mitzs. Michael's here at work, so I'm guessing he's ok, but I haven't had a chance to talk with him yet.

Yep, we're fine... amazingly, all of the lines of storms went around us, passing us to the north and south, except the very last one, which passed by relatively quickly. :)

That said, I was up most of the night watching the storm reports on the local news stations, ready to grab the family and take them to the basement. :sleeping

Glad to hear that you're OK as well, Mitzs!

According to the weather service, my little area of the world has had triple the average amount of snow we get in January and no end in sight. The commute in was a double threat of snow and fog but so far, only fender benders. A few weeks ago, a woman who was 8 months pregnant lost control of her vehicle one afternoon on her way home and died in a collision. Emergency personnel got her to the ER where they delivered her baby alive by C-section before she died. It was very sad.

Although we don't get nearly as much snow as other parts of the state and country, because it's so unusual, people are having a tough time driving in it, resulting in a bunch of accidents.

Glad to see you guys are ok. I'm from Nebraska and don't miss tornadoes at all.

You think Idaho is bad James
England pretty much grinds to a halt with an inch of snow
a few wet leaves bring thousand ton trains to their knees and gusty winds wreck havoc on the roads

its VERY surreal, but I think we discussed the problems with Idaho drivers in winter on the phone ;)

Thats very true but more of a panic the further South you go. Its more common in the North so we are used to crap weather.
