I've got to tell you about this. When I was getting the grand tour at my new job yesterday, all the engineers have these stuffed dolls at their desks...kind of a gag among them...one of them was your av! Of course, I immediately thought of you. Guess great minds think alike. Naturally, they're all Linux gurus, too. Connection?

When you "ping" someone in a techie forum, it's just a way of trying to get their attention. Sort of like: "Attention Cartman" or "Calling Cartman" or the like. It thought maybe Cartman was a favorite of techies. I've also heard that the engineers go into the "geek room" (no lie, that's what it's called) and watch "the Simpsons" at 5 p.m. Go figure.
