I've debated long and hard about whether or not I should announce this at this stage of the game or to wait until the aftermath. I'm going to split the difference and share part of the information.

Late last Friday, I got an email from a representative of a very well known software company, asking if I'd be interested in a telephone interview with them. Someone had forwarded them a copy of my CV and they want to interview me for an open position on one of their teams.

Frankly, it blew me away (when I can reveal the full details, you'll see why). I would probably have never considered even applying for a job with such a large firm let alone anticipated that they would call me. Even if it turns out to be nothing, just to have been asked is impressive.

The call is tomorrow morning at 8:30 a.m. my time (I think I'm GMT +7 so do the math). I have no idea of what's going to happen but we'll see.

BTW, I googled the names of the two people who'll be present on the phone interview along with the company name and came up with multiple hits, so they sure seem legit. Stay tuned.

    Good luck with it!

You obvious can't say too much about what is involved, and may not have much info at the moment.

My feelings about such approaches are mixed. I generaly don't like working for 'big' companies, although, as a result of a takeover I am currently working for one! You will likely differ in your view.

    Harry.

A phone interview is better than a face-to-face any day.

If you have a noticeboard handy, then tack a few cheatsheets on it that you can read off of when the questions start getting a little dicey.

Other than that, best of luck.
