Do you use any? if so which one?

This year is the year to get my finances straight and i thought i would try some software to help me manage my money better. The most obvious one is MS money, but is it the best?

I know i could knock something up in excel, to be honest i don't have the time. I also like being able to download statments directly into the software.

Can't recommend any program in particular, simply because I've never used one. As a fan of open source, this would be my first port of call.

I use Excel. I have dabbled with Quicken in the past but it didn't have the banks I use listed so it's pretty much rendered useless without that feature available to me. Same goes for MS Money.

Excel does what I need it to do, that said I like the look of Rudder and it's free!

I just keep track of my finances with Excel, when I even bother to type it all in. Usually a glance at my online bank statement is enough to let me know where I am financially and what I'm spending money on.

Been a while since the last post but I thought I would give my two penneth!

I have been using http://www.youneedabudget.com/ for a while and it has been incredibly good.

Once you get your head round it, it is very easy to keep on top of everything. It tracks your spending and makes it really easy to plan for everything. The forums are very helpful too.

    This works.

Admittedly you have no access to your debit/credit cards but the bills do get paid :p
