    Hi All,

Just curious as well as wanting to know if anyone regularly buys a PC type hardware to keep up to date with new and frequently changing hardware technology. This is so one can keep up with new technology on the desktop and laptop arena etc.

This is true especially with desktop and laptop PC's in terms of the components like the processors, graphic cards and motherboard etc. I know there a web site called I believe Tom's Hardware, but wondering if you go the extra mile of buying a magazine or subscribe to one. Thanks in advance for your responses:)

I subscribe to computer shopper. I signed up to one of these 3 mags for £1 offers on: www.dennispublishing.com

I'm not 100% sure if I still pay for it as I have closed the bank account the d/d came from and they still send them.

I don’t get any magazines, just pick stuff up on the web about new kit or from chatting with colleagues at work.

I haven't bought a magazine regularly in literally years. Occasionally I will buy a copy of Wired and National Geographic at the airport for the longer flights, else I just don't bother. The future is digital. :study

Think I like fiddling around with hardware more than anything else. I still buy laptops from major manufacturers, but haven't bought a desktop PC since 1989! I build a new one (or two, or three) every year. Last one was a low power Athlon X2 (65 watt) utilizing an nVidia 7025 chipset.

PC Format is very good for gaming oriented hardware at the moment. I also buy PC Plus, but that's more oriented towards business.

Both are excellent toilet / bath material. :)

Some can be expensive I agree there, but they aren't always out of date and offer a completely different experience to the web. Each to their own.
