    Hi All,

I could do with Rosy's help on this one I think, but as she is creating 'White bits' I'll have to accept any advice that all you brainy people can provide.

I have a User at work who wants to access an Excel file that is password protected, the person who originally protected the file is no longer with us, now the current user wants to change the ownership of the file.......how does she do this????? :?:

I think your only course is going to be one of the numerous password cracking programs available on the net but I would be very interested to find out if I'm wrong. This is why I steer users towards NTFS permissions when they want to secure files.

Sounds like it's time to bribe Si (upon his return) to delete the incriminating evidence...of course, the authors of these works could also just go in and sanatize them to a morally acceptable standard. :)

Hey...none of my comments were off-color. I was a perfect (well, "semi-perfect") gentleman throughout this affair. You'll not get a dime from me, brother.
