Passed the vcp 410 exam, had 85 questions and an hour and half to complete. I finished with just over nineteen minutes left for me to review my questions etc.

Scored a 396 and glad I passed as little one is dropping soon so studies for exams would be tight. The price for this exam is one of the most expensive I've paid for an exam in one single sitting, £174 incl vat so not to be sniffed at.

I have been studying for this exam for over six months after attending an official vmware install, implement and configure five days course in Nov of last year.

In preparing for the exam I read through all the blue print prerequisite pdf's, Scott Lowe - mastering vmware book as this is a must and five stars.

My lab setup was a combination of ESXi 4.0, 4.1, Vcenter server in a physical and workstation lab setup. I couldn't get vmotion to work as I had two different cpu's Intel and AMD. I also setup shared storage using a dedicated openfiler san box as well as support a virtual environment at work.

The exam was hard in the sense that some of the questions were very tricky and if you don't have real hands on experience it would be guess work.

The trainsignal video was another must use study tool as it was five stars coupled with Simon Long's free mock test questions. I also went through the official vmware mock exams on their web site and after 13 attempts scored a 100% and took notes through out each attempt as the answer is not given at the end of the mock test.

Well it's doable with lots of hard work and hands on and make sure you devour the vmware blueprint and understand all the terminologies etc. Best of wishes:)

I think PowerShell is awesome, I'm currently doing a script to grab a **** load of data out SQL, fix some columns, change some column names, add some, drop some that I'm done with and export it to CSV so they can import it into a new application that's getting deployed, all from a tiny little script :D saves some poor bugger having to dump it all to excel and manually fixing it all.
