    Wow.

Well just got home after what I thought would be a no hoper of an exam today. I've been struggling for the past two weeks, consistently getting 80% on the Totalsems practice exams I had convinced myself that I was only doing that because I'd taken them so many times and had memorised the questions. To top that I crammed like never before last night, took the final test at about midnight and failed!
Luckily there were a fair few "soft skills" questions like "you are fixing a PC, you have found the solution and it is quick and easy to fix. Do you A: string it out for the money, B: be honest etc....I think I counted 10 or so of these. Also a few general more hardware related questions in there too, more than I expected.

Well anyway, imagine my surprise when up popped the result 712! Woohoo!

Off to get a few beers.

Thank you and Congrats! :slidedrin That makes me feel much better bout my tests on the 6th. Answers to my earlier question like, "90% or nothing", really weren't doing me very much to help with my confidence. Very odd that the TS practice tests fail you below 80%.

    Congratulations ...:thumbleft

I had probably only two or three of the soft skills questions, but the reports coming in from you guys suggest that CompTIA are weighting the exams with a lot more of this type of question.

Thanks for all the kind words from everybody.
I've booked the hardware exam for the 22nd of December so I have to get cramming soon.
What's everybody's views on the differences between the 2 exams? Do you find 1 harder than the other?
    I'd be interested to know.

    Cheers

Hi mate, I found I was more comfortable with the Core Hardward exam and thought I'd failed the OS during the test.
It all depends on what kind of person you are, me I prefer the physical hardward installation to the OS management jobs, so therefore I thought the hardware was easier.

Remember the exams are only easy if you've done the work and know your stuff. Once you're comfortable with what you've learnt you'll find that you are more and more confident which will reflect in your exam score.:thumbleft
