    Passed Network+ today! :cheeseyg

Well i have to say, overall i've really enjoyed studying for this cert, my first. The material was very broad and interesting for the most part, and although i spent maybe a little too long on studying for it, it's been a positive first certification experience for me!

The exam itself was very weird, got loads of very vague, sometimes pointless questions, there were even a few grammatical errors and would you believe it, spelling mistakes in the introductory text?? Not something you would expect from a professional exam?

This is how i studied for it:

    1) Primary Text: All-in-one Mike Meyers
    2) Backup Text: Exam Cram 2 (N10-002 Version)
    3) Exam Cram Network+ Practice Questions (500) including test engine cd.
    4) Computer Networks, Tanenbaum (REFERENCE)

One thing i must say about the Meyers book though, although i enjoyed reading it very much, it's just loaded with errors. I didn't read the errata for the book, but i managed to spot countless mistakes and glaring omissions. If i didn't have the Tanenbaum book i might've been in trouble, especially regarding 802.11. Beware of this one. Excellent writing style though!

The exam cram stuff is good for revision and practice before the test.

Thanks to everyone on this forum for their support! I've learned quite a bit from reading the posts here!!! Cheers :thumbleft And good luck to anyone currently studying Net+!

    Congrats Arisen! :thumbleft

This will be the next cert I do when I finish my Degree, and I have to admit that the Exam Cram Q book is good stuff! If I could find the time and money to sit it now then I probably would. Until May though I'll just bide my time.

Great news Arisen congratulations and beer are in order.

I love that feeling when you pass an exam, the relief, the excitement, the re-newed thirst for something alcoholic :D

    Well done mate 8)

Tom > I actually started quite a few months ago, but put it on hold due to my wife and i having our first baby! So as any new father can tell you, sleep is not really an option for the first couple of months at least! :biggrin

I started up the net+ again in early october, but i had forgotten most of the stuff i had already read, so it took around 6-8 weeks total.

Quite a long time but, i was happy with my score which was just below 90%, so hopefully alot of it will stick! I'm gonna need it with ccna coming up now!
