    Hi Guys

Passed the Network+ this morning (score of 745).

For those of you who are interested.......

I used the Sybex/Groth book on Network+ (fourth edition) and some old Learnkey videos (they were for Network+ n10-002). Started studying 5 weeks ago (broke the book down into two chapters a week - theres 10 chapters). For the exam make sure you everything out of the book - however the first question I got was never mentioned anywhere in the book. The 85 questions only took about 40 mins.

The network+ test in this forum kindly written by Luddym also reinforces some of the concepts in the test, so practice, practice, practice!

One thing that was mentioned in an earlier post that I totally agree with is buy more than one book - as some of the text in the Groth book is a bit confusing and its good to have another source.

And finally, in answer to my previous post, for the network+ exam, a NIC operates at the data link layer (this is because it has a MAC address) - this was in one of the questions I had! (it wasnt an answer to a question so thought it was ok to post)

Thanks to everyone for all the help - and for the A+ exam help i had last year.

Just one other question - what should I do now???

Im considering started a CCNA at my local college (course starts in a month or so), but considering doing server+, i-net+ and security+ and leave the CCNA for next year. Has anyone any experience in any of these, as any help would be appreciated.

I think now you are ready for anything! It depends on what your chosen field is? What kind of a job you looking at or you in at the moment?

Congrats on the pass! Not looking forward to my N+ as my networking experience has been fairly limited but I'm still learning and just waiting for that magical moment when it all gels together and makes sense. Least I'm fairly confident on the OSI now!

    Deck,

It took me a fair while for the OSI to *sink in*. It then just all made sense one day. :)
    Good luck :thumbleft

Dont really know what to do next - I like the look of the networking course, but would also like to get more server & OS experience.

Im about to start a new job in IT Support on the business side (all of my previous experience has been with home users) so I might just wait and see what i like, and try to match a course to it.

Its great that theres forums like this, as I can look around the server+ one etc and see what its like before diving in.
