    Hello to you all,
I have passed my a+,here is a short story of how I passed, well to start with my wife and I go to Goa India every year for our holidays and to have our teeth sorted out and to eat well, and general sunbathing etc,I have been reading the Mike Meyers back to front and studying to get ready for the exams,my son said to me do you know they have boot camps in Goa,So I looked into it and decided to take the a+ in Panjim capital of Goa,while my wife did her own thing.Enroled in the course and started on the Monday,I had one to one training,my instructor came from Delhi and he was very qualified.I thought I knew quite a lot as I have been building pcs for about 15 years, was I in for a shock he put me through 4 days of intense training, delving deeper in to the chapters of a+,osi layers, networking, cables, raid, scsi etc.and on the 5th day I took the 2 exams, essentials and technician, passed both.I was quite suprised at the exams as they were quite diverse in the questions asked,so I was pleased that I did the intense course.
Next week I decided to take n+,shock once again lots to learn and a lot to take in,well I came down with a really bad cold, and I found taking in the new info was a bit to much as the cold made me feel ill, well I took the exam and failed, but not by much, but still a fail, anyway not to worry as I am going back to Goa in January 08 to resit the n+ and to do the Mcdst course,so in the mean time I can study more.
Best of luck to every one else taking your chosen exams,I will let you know how I get on In January
    Regards Dave

Congratulations on A+ pass (both exams), Dave. Sorry to hear about the Network+ but it sounds like you tried to do a little too much too fast. Do these boot camps cost much in India? In the UK and US, they are quite expensive and not the method of choice to learn such material.

Thanks for the congrats,I know it is not the normal thing to do a boot camp but it cost me £470,that is for one to one training, course exams, books etc, and all the tea and coffee you can drink, and as I am always going to Goa I thought why not.
And the Mcdst is going to cost me £500 all in.You have to find your own way there, they have offices in Delhi,Shimla and Goa.I dont know if I am allowed to say there name or web address on the forum,if I am allowed I can give anyone the info if they want.
    Regards Dave

Congrats Dave! Seems like the 4 days were really "intense" indeed. I would sure like to get some training like that for Network+ and MCSA! I'm also sorry to hear bout the Network+, but don't worry. I'm sure you'll definitely nail the exam in January! Best of luck!
