    Passed it on Friday...phew!

    Study Material:

A+ & N+ - I would strongly recommend anyone looking to do 70-680 to do these first. I found this foundation critical to build my 70-680 knowledge on.

Don Poultons MCTS 70-680 Cert Guide - 7/10
A very comprehensive book, but more serious than Mike Meyers. Well written and plenty of end of chapter questions and practice exams. A little heavy going at times and no pdf ebook included.

    Prof Messer 70-680 - 8/10
Usually good quality from the prof. Easy bite sized chunks to digest. I would watch a video before reading the chapter as my foundation. He even replied to my Facebook about doing a 70-680 study group session (like he does with A+ & N+).

    Orin Thomas - Rapid Review - 4/10
I used this as exam prep. It is full of questions, but doesn't go into enough depth with the answers to help you understand why you got it wrong. He would tell you what you need know...I already know what I need to know...I want to know how to do it!

    Labs - 10/10
The best way for me to learn is to do it. I used Oracle VM VirtualBox a fab piece of free software to use and test out all those commands and deployment techniques.

    70-685 next....

Congrats on the pass, what did you score?

I will use a similar method to you but swap out the Rapid Review with Boson I think.

    Good luck with the 70-685.

    Andy,

Thanks for the advice with how you went about studying & passing the 70-680... I was thinking about taking the N+ or the 70-680, I will now look at the N+ and I guess as there is only one exam for the N+ Certification then this would be a natural progression.

Congratulations also by the way and all the best for the 70-685

    Congrats ANdy on passing.
When you did your A+ & N+, what materials/books did you use? Thanks for the review on the other materials.

Congrats on the pass! Good luck with the 685.

Taire2011 - Mike Meyers is the don for A+ and N+ in my opinion.
(Just noticed the N+ book is onto FIFTH edition now!)

Congrats on the pass and thanks for the comprehensive reviews of your study material.
Only thing I'd say is that the MCDST is also a very good starting point if you have that instead of the A+/N+.

Good luck with the 685, remember that this exam is 'scenario' based and quite different in structure from the 680 (I found it easier than the 680 myself...).

I scored 850/1000. Boson practice exams were fab for my A+ and I'd use them again for the 70-680 if I had to do it again

I think that's the right decision...you'll be greatful you did.

I did my A+ between May & November 2011. N+ between November & Feb. 70-680 from Feb till last Friday (haha woop). A+ & N+ I used Mike Meyers books, prof messer videos and I got hold Sybex book for some N+ practice exams.

    What 2-4-1 ?? .... noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

Nice one. I have this next Thursday morning. 10.30AM. The centre is literally right round the corner from the office so I either go in happy or go in feeling like crap.

Thanks for the tips for extra study. I hav a week to cram. ;-)

685 is a great exam. I found it a lot easier to study for than this one. The CBT nugget series is awesome for 685.
