Hi Everyone.

I passed the essentials exam today, scored a 798. I was hoping for the 800s but oh well, it's a pass and I'll aim for the 800 mark in the 702.

I used Mike Meyers book and Prof Messer videos...just like most people.

Just thought I'd mention that last night I read all the A+ success and pass stories here...it certainly helped to relax me and ease off some of the pressure. Thanks to everyone.

I'll keep you posted on the 702 (waiting for payday).

p.s. anyone used the Taitec college in Manchester...it was horrible!

do your revision the 701 and 702 are quite similar exams. the only hard questions are the ones you dont know the answer to. good luck and congrats on the pass

Woo I passed my practical today with a 808! Chuffed to bit and I've already ordered my Network+ book.

Big thanks to the community here...all the advice and information has been a massive help.

Yup I'm looking forward to visiting the Network+ forum.

This is a beer fuelled weekend for me to enjoy (Didsbury Beer Festival) and then I'll start working on the Network+. Hopefully my Mike Meyers book of arrived then, I used him for A+. I've also got a Sybex book a friend gave me.

As for completing it...I don't know. I've only been in my first IT 2 months so it may take me a little longer to get to grips with it. But on the plus side the Network+ book has 704 pages compared to the A+'s 1376 pages, so hopefully quicker. At a complete guess, I'm thinking Feb sometime. How about you, what's your thoughts and timescales?

 

Congrats. Just a quick question in the mike myers book did you get the latest win7 chapters? as that is now in the exam questions.

 

no there wasn't any win7 in my mike meyers 7th edition book. There was some on the prof messer videos..I used them to add to my notes and thought they were great. I use win7 at home and that also help.
